It's that time of year to think ahead to Christmas. Once again we will be ordering Poinsettia's to beautify our Church for our Christmas Eve Services. This is a wonderful way to honor or remember your loved ones during the holiday season. Plants may be picked up following the Christmas Eve Service.
Please complete an order form, provided in the Narthex. Place your completed order along with the payment due at the time of order, in form of cash or check made payable to "Belmont Community Church of Johnstown" in an envelope marked "Poinsettias." You may place your envelope in the offering or bring it to the Church office. Plants are $10.00 each and are available in red, white, or pink.
The deadline to order your Poinsettias is Monday November 24, 2025.
Our Christmas Manger will be in the Narthex during the weeks of Advent. The purpose of this manger is to help us realize that there is nothing too great or too small that we can't bring to God through our prayers. If you have a prayer concern that has been on your heart. There will be slips of paper on the table near the manger that you may write your prayer concerns on. Then drop your concern(s) in the slot in the manger. (All concerns will be kept confidentially in the manger and not be seen by anyone.) On Sunday, January 4th following our worship service we will be having a bonfire to burn the manger to send our concerns upwards to God.
Cathy Blough and Debi Sedei have graciously donated a beautiful ceramic nativity set and creche for our next silent auction. The nativity scene is on display in the Trinity Room. Stop in, take a look, and place your bid. All the pieces were hand painted by Cathy Blough. Cathy and Debi's dad made the creche.
While you are out shopping don't forget to pick up some items for our December Mission Projects:
With the arrival of September, the choir will once again be having rehearsals on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm, following Bible Study. We are looking for folks that are interested in singing with the choir. Prayerfully consider joining the choir and use your voice to make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
Volunteers are needed for the Laurel Highlands Bible 2 School Program. Bible 2 School is growing this year with many 5th and 6th grade classes at all 6 of their locations. Prayerfully consider volunteering your time to share God's word with children who have not heard about Jesus! For more information contact Stacy Novak at b2slaurelhighlands@gmail.com or by calling 814-248-8381.
We are seeking volunteers to serve as Liturgists for our worship services. Prayerfully consider serving the Lord in this way. Please call Ann Kyler or the church office at 814-266-3964 if you feel moved to help in this special way.
Belmont Church is bringing back a healthy practice. Blood pressures will be taken the first Sunday, after the service, in the Fellowship hall. Anyone in the congregation who is able to take a blood pressure is wanted and needed to be a part of this wellness ministry. The church has stethoscopes and blood pressure cuffs. You don't have to purchase them. If you have your own and want to use your own, you can do so. Kindly share your talent/skill once a month for the good and well being of our church community.
We at Belmont Church are excited because we have been seeing new faces in church. We welcome each and everyone! Belmont Church has a phone service that is called "Call-Em-All". We utilize this service to periodically make calls to announce upcoming events, worship reminders, or just about anything that needs to be shared with our flock. If you would like to have your phone number added to our list, please drop a note in the collection plate with your name and phone number, or call the church secretary at 814-266-3964 with your information. We promise that your phone number is kept confidential and is not shared with anyone.
Our adult Sunday School class resumed every Sunday at 9:00 am. Please consider attending Sunday School. This class is full of some very wonderful folks. We promise this will touch your life and help you grown as a Christian.
Keep in mind that Belmont Church is always collecting canned goods and non-perishable foods for the Moxham Food Pantry. The food pantry is a vital resource for many in our community. Everyone needs a helping hand at some point in their life. There are many people that do not know where their next meal is coming from. There is a table in the Narthex and one in the Fellowship Room downstairs. Thank you for your continued support.
If you would like to donate to the church, please send in a check or money order to
